NETWORK STATE DEMANDS ARMENIAN GENOCIDE DENIALISM TO BE CRIMINALISED

2020 was disastrous for Armenia and its diaspora as Armenians lost 1/4 of their homeland, de facto losing Artsakh, leaving thousands of victims dead and wounded, prisoners of war (POWs), displaced people and refugees, the Armenian Mirror Spectator wrote.

The disaster still causes psychological depression.

In response to this trauma, Vahram Ayvazyan, an International Relations and Genocide scholar, founded the Network State.

The Network State is “Armenia-centrism” based on the philosophy of “All for Armenia.”

In their view, the ultimate goal of any Armenian activity should be to contribute to the development of Armenia by repatriation, participation in its governance, economic activity, by investments and innovative thoughts, by providing knowledge, lobbying, cultural and sports expansion.

At the same time, it should be emphasised that the Network State is not just a product of emotional and patriotic feelings, it is the mutually beneficial key to solving specific political, economic, moral, psychological and cultural problems.

The Network State brings together all Armenians living and working in the different parts of the world, uniting their intellectual and material resources, and meanwhile it protects them.

The Network State is not only a platform for economic investments and provision of resources, but it also is the birthplace of the future pan-Armenian military-political elite, which must eventually take on the burden of making Armenia a viable, developed, stable and attractive state.

In a 12-point press release, the Network State called for the Armenian Genocide to not only be recognised, but its denial criminalised.

Armenian Genocide.
  1. The Armenian Genocide is a terrible crime against Armenian people and all humanity;
  2. The Armenian Genocide commenced in 1915 continues up to day, since the Republic of Turkey has been denying the fact of the Armenian Genocide for about 100 years, and the denial is a stage of genocide;
  3. The historical memory of the Armenian Genocide is the key component of the collective identity of the Armenian people;
  4. The recognition of the Armenian Genocide is essential for continuous vital activity of the World Armenians;
  5. The Armenian ethnos is deprived of its cradle of civilization – the Armenian Highlands, in consequence of the Armenian Genocide,
  6. The current Government of the Republic of Armenia has no right to represent the position and interests of the World Armenians;

Declares that:

  1. Demands from all UN member states, including the Republic of Turkey, and international intergovernmental organizations to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide;
  2. Demands the Republic of Turkey to assume the obligation of unconditional compensations for the political, economic, financial, and moral and psychological damages caused by the Armenian Genocide;
  3. Considers as invalid the Treaty of Moscow (of March 16, 1921) and Treaty of Kars (of October 13, 1921) signed between the entities that are not recognized as the subjects of international law and emphasizes that the Republic of Turkey has occupied the territories of the Armenian state for already 100 years with all the ensuing political and legal consequences;
  4. Recognizes as invalid any document signed or to be signed by the former, present and future Governments of the Republic of Armenia with the Republic of Turkey, which overshadows the demand of official recognition of the Armenian Genocide and ensures the application of the aforesaid unlawful treaties of 1921;
  5. Demands the criminalization and application of criminalization of the denial of the Armenian Genocide to be ensured in the territories of the Republic of Armenia and UN member states;
  6. Demands from the UN member states and international intergovernmental organizations to include the history of the Armenian Genocide in the public education programs.
