Press Release: Network States & New Countries: New Global Ecosystem

The sixth webinar in the highly anticipated “Network States and New Countries” series, titled “New Global Ecosystem,” was successfully held on June 30, 2024. The event, hosted by Vahram Ayvazyan, founder of the Panarmenian Network State, brought together prominent voices in the field to discuss the transformative potential of emerging global entities such as intentional communities, free cities, and new countries.

Vahram Ayvazyan opened the session by welcoming participants from different disciplines and backgrounds. He highlighted the evolution of the webinar series over the past five months, which covered topics such as the power dynamics of network states and new countries, land issues, psychological and ideological challenges, and the relationship with traditional nation-states. Despite recognizing the outdated nature of the Westphalian system, Vahram emphasized the importance of understanding and positioning these new entities within the current global framework.

Gregory Magarshak presented an insightful exploration of the role of decentralized software in the new global ecosystem. The discussion also covered the evolution of online communities and the increasing prominence of open-source software in creating network states. Magarshak highlighted how these technologies offer greater control and autonomy, empowering individuals and communities to operate independently of traditional power.

Ray Svitla discussed how technology played a pivotal role in supporting Belarus during democratic protests, underscoring the influence of decentralized tools on political movements. The concept of network states was further explored through examples from Estonia, Taiwan, and Belarus, highlighting the collective strength and legitimacy these entities wield in challenging conventional nation-state paradigms.

Fabo Hax elaborated on Zuyux, their decentralized autonomous organization focused on developing state solutions and public services. He emphasized the critical role of cultural diversity in fostering innovative approaches and inclusive governance practices.

The webinar wrapped up with a dynamic question-and-answer session, fostering insightful dialogue and exchange among participants.
